Start by making a room-by-room list of the furniture that should leave. Count large pieces separately from loose small items. Photograph each room and mark the pieces that must stay. This gives everyone the same scope before a removal crew arrives.

Build a useful item list

“Several desks” leaves too much open. Write down how many desks, chairs, cabinets, tables, and shelving units are involved. Note whether pieces are assembled, attached, or too large for a standard doorway. Include drawers that contain files or personal belongings; those should be emptied and handled by your team before removal.

Map the route out

A cabinet on the ground floor is a different job from the same cabinet up a narrow staircase. Walk the path to the loading area and note locked doors, elevator reservations, and parking restrictions. If a piece is unusually heavy or awkward, flag it for assessment. Decide what stays with the business

Keep records, devices, keys, and personal property out of the removal area.
